Step in the Name of Love

  • Step In the Name of Love

One of the definitions of Love is "an intense feeling of deep affection".

John 3:16 says that God loved us so much that He gave His only Son. This love defined is Agape~ "the highest form of love, charity" and "the love of God for man and of man for God".

Love is an action word. For most Christians, we learn to memorize this Bible verse in Sunday school. It's one of the most popular verses in the Bible, yet, I believe, the most misunderstood. What do I mean?  We often boast of the love that God had for humanity in order to give His only Son as a sacrifice, however do we truly take the time to dig into what that love truly looks like and entails. I mean for the almighty sovereign God to "give" His only Son and ultimately the obedience of the Son to submit to the will of His Father and agree to "give" His life is simply astounding. Which drives me to the question of What does it all mean

We use John 3:16 as our "go-to" scripture when explaining the love of the Father when sharing the Good news in effort to win souls for Christ; yet, I ask again, what does it truly mean?

Love is an action word. The love that Abba and His Son exemplified was the truest sacrificial definition of love. It personified and embodied the example that we are to strive to live by as God's children.

With that said, as children of God, we are to identify with what our big brother Jesus did for us and be willing to give of ourselves by showing that same love that was given to us. Are you willing to reciprocate that love daily? While on your job, at school, in your community and in your family?

Love is an action word. The three nails will always be a symbolization of the action that Jesus took in order for us to live a more than overcomers life. Love gives at the expense of self~ what price are you willing to pay for love?

My challenge for you is to Live Love Out Loud and in motion.
